The Culinary Institute of Michigan will offer cooking classes to the general public this summer. July 23, it's Duck Two Ways. Learn how to pan-sear a duck and make duck confit. The cost is $95. Historic Sites Open for the 2012 Season
Enjoy a tour of the Lakeshore Museum Center Historic Sites: Scolnik House of the Depression Era, Fire Barn Museum and the Hackley & Hume Historic Site. The three sites are open from Noon to 4 pm on Wednesdays through Sunday until October 28. Enjoy a new exhibit "Sawdust and Symphonies" at the City Barn (Hackley & Hume Site) which explores early entertainment in Muskegon from the late 1800s through the 1930s.
Muskegon Farmers Market
The Muskegon Farmer's Market, owned and operated by the City of Muskegon, is dedicated to showcasing the best in locally-grown foods, flowers, nursery stock, handicrafts and baked goods. The Market also hosts a giant Flea Market on Wednesdays through October where everything imaginable is sold. For more information call 231-722-3251
New Art for the New Century
The Muskegon Museum of Art Foundation Board of Trustees unveiled a significant new collection of art that has been assembled in honor of the MMA's 100th anniversary. This collection has been assembled through the leadership of the MMA Collections Committee and with the support of countless donors of art and of resources. This collection will include about 100 new works of art. These works, in all media and ranging in date from the 17th century to the present are now on display for public viewing.
84th Regional Exhibition
The Muskegon Museum of Art continues to celebrate the work of Michigan artists with this large, juried selection of paintings, glass, sculpture, prints, fiber art and much, much, more. Montague Farmers Market
The Montague Farmers' Market is located on the southeast corner of Church Street and Water Street, one block south of the stoplight. The Market's open Wednesday and Saturday, from mid-June through the last Saturday in October. The Farmers' Market, overseen by the Downtown Development Authority, permits local vendors to sell fruits, vegetables, baked goods, flowers and plants. For more information call 231-893-1155
Milwaukee Clipper Tours
Tour the SS Milwaukee Clipper Museum Ship on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5pm Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Adults $7, children 6-16 are $5 (younger are free). Bring your camera to see this 107 year old historical maritime museum ship, a U.S. National Landmark, that is full of Great Lakes artifacts and special Muskegon antique boats. Find out what a "soda bowl" is and don't forget to stop in the ship store. The ship is docked at 2098 Lakeshore Drive in Muskegon. Call 231-780-4055 for more information.

Great Lakes Model Ships Exhibit
The Milwaukee Clipper has a new exhibit of model ships, loaned to the ferry-turned-museum through Labor Day. They are exact models of some of the Great Lakes' more famous ships such as the Eastland, the S.S. Badger and many others. The Clipper and these wonderful ship models are available for viewing from 1:00pm-5:00pm Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children.
