Students rewarded with free Lumberjacks tickets

Students rewarded with free Lumberjacks tickets

MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich.—When the Muskegon Lumberjacks take the ice on Wednesday, chances are some Muskegon County students will be watching, thanks to a new rewards program.

The program honors those who have excelled in the classroom with free tickets to a Lumberjacks home game. The students sit in a special section reserved and paid for by Community Schools Credit Union, County Teachers Insurance Agency and M3 Investment Services.

“Our partnership with the Muskegon Lumberjacks and area school districts is focused on promoting reading among area students. While many schools will use the tickets to recognize student reading efforts, many others already have student reward programs for positive behavior and academics in place.

Grabbin' A Bite reviews Handsome Henry's

Grabbin' A Bite reviews Handsome Henry's
MUSKEGON, Mich.-- A high school friend from days of old suggested I visit Handsome Henry's American/Italian Kitchen and Bar in Muskegon.   It sounded interesting and since we were going to be in the neighborhood soon, we made plans to meet some other Muskegon friends for lunch.    The front of the building was very inviting: bright red painted brick, black roof and sunny yellow umbrellas on the patio tables, next to a soothing pond.  After a little confusion as to how to enter, we discovered the entrance was actually in the rear. The same brightly colored theme carried throughout the dining area and bar with walls of purple, gray, and orange and beautiful tile work of the same.
