Harbor Theater “Pays It Forward” to Veterans and Active Military

Muskegon, MI Sept. 12, 2010: The 2010 Sundance winner Restrepo is a gritty, intense documentary surrounding the U.S. deployment of soldiers in Afghanistan’s Korengal Valley, which was considered the most dangerous posting in the U.S. military. While it will keep the audience at the edge of their seats and their hearts racing, it will surely leave a lasting impression on many that leave.

“It’s an interesting concept that we, as a society, have chronicled such sad and touching events through this documentary with, aside from exposure, the intent of profiting on it,” says Jen Pelto, owner of the Harbor Theater.

Shoreline Spectacular - GFS MarketPlace Family Picnic Rescheduled

From: http://www.shorelinespectacular.com

Shoreline Spectacular had many successful events happen this last weekend (Labor Day weekend) but unfortunately our GFS Marketplace Family Picnic was rained out.

We have decided to reschedule it to this Sunday, September 12th, from 1 – 5 pm. The location will be at GFS Marketplace, 885 W. Sherman Blvd. All money raised here will go to local charities (just like the festival).

The events that were planned for the original picnic will take place here. We will be raffling off the 2010 Polaris Quad, we will be having a hot dog contest (sponsored by Vienna) and music.

The picnic will be $5 for adults / $3 for children under 12 yr old.

It will include a pig roast (bbq or not), baked beans, potato salad, and ice cream. (Beverages sold separate) and for the children there will be hot dogs, chips and juice.
