Shooting in Muskegon Heights injures at least 1 person

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WZZM)- Police are investigating a Muskegon Heights shooting that left at least one man injured.  It happened around 7:40 Tuesday night, at the intersection of Hume and Riordan, just north of Sherman.

Antoine Williams provided the attached photos of paramedics treating one of the victims. 

Muskegon County authorities are refusing to provide information on the incident.  But the Muskegon Chronicle is reporting at least three people may have been shot and one has critical injuries.

The Muskegon County government will mark National Crime Victims’ Rights Week with a vigil on Wednesday, April 13.

The vigil will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the front lawn of the Hall of Justice, located at 990 Terrace Street in Muskegon.

According to the webpage for the Office of Victims of Crime, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week began in April 1981.  It’s meant to promote victims’ rights and honor crime victims.

Police arrest suspect in Norton Shores store robberies

NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WZZM) -- Norton Shores Police say tips from TV viewers led to Thursday night's arrest of a suspect wanted for a series of store robberies.

Investigators say someone who saw TV news reports Thursday showing surveillance video of one of the three store robberies.  That viewer called Muskegon County Silent Observer to identify the suspect.

Officers tracking the suspect spotted him Thursday night in Norton Shores.  The man drove away into Fruitport Township.
