Lumberjacks prepping for three-game weekend at L.C. Walker Arena

MUSKEGON, Mich. – The Muskegon Lumberjacks will get their fill of home cooking this weekend.

The Jacks will enjoy their only three-game weekend at the L.C. Walker Arena this 2010-11 United States Hockey League season. The homestand comes on the heels of a four-game stretch on the road that saw the Jacks net three out of eight possible points.

Muskegon (12-11-6 – 30 points, fourth place in the Eastern Conference) suffered two setbacks last weekend, as they fell 7-1 to the Indiana Ice on Friday night in Indianapolis and were upended in the final minute 4-3 against the Youngstown Phantoms on Saturday night.

Matt Berry, a Canton, Mich., native who is committed to Michigan State University, potted a goal in both of the weekend’s games and was the Jacks’ nomination for the USHL CCM Offensive Player of the Week award. He now leads the team with 15 goals and is third in the league in his rookie season.
