Muskegon changes zoning to allow breweries
News

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM)- Muskegon is one step closer to getting its own brewery.

Thursday night the city planning commission approved re-writing a zoning ordinance to allow brewpubs, breweries, wineries and distilleries.  That clears the way for Unruly Brewing Company to potentially open this summer.

Downtown development officials say the beer business is booming in Holland, Grand Rapids and other areas so now is their chance to bring the growing industry to Muskegon.

Jeff Jacobsen, the co-owner of Unruly Brewing Company says, "The city's been really great about working with us."  We're just excited to finally bring some craft brew here to Muskegon."
