MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) -- Twenty-four-year-old Angela Venditti from Macomb County has won the 2012 Miss Michigan Pageant.
The reigning Miss St. Clair Shores received her crown on Saturday night at the Frauenthal Center for Performing Arts in Muskegon during the final evening of competition.

The 2011 Miss Michigan Elizabeth Wertenberger fitted the crown on the Shelby Township woman.

Venditti beat 30 other contestants and also won a $10,000 scholarship and the opportunity to compete in the next Miss America pageant.

The Muskegon Chronicle says the first runner-up was 19-year-old Shelby Gardiner of St. Clair Shores, 24-year-old Kelly Oles of Oxford, 22-year-old Sarah Suydam of St. Clair Shores and 20-year-old Alexa Allor of Monroe.

Venditti says she'll spend the next year promoting her platform, which is titled, "Above the Influence: Keeping Kids Drug Free."
