MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) - Some Muskegon residents were literally shaken out of bed Sunday morning , from a house explosion.
Some say they could feel the ground shaking nearly two miles away.
The house at 1681 Elwood Street was vacant according to the landlord when it exploded around 8:30 in the morning.
It immediately caught fire, Muskegon firefighters were able to stabilize the fire and determine no one was inside at the time of the explosion.
Homes on both sides were damaged by flying debris but no one was injured.
The Muskegon Fire and Police investigators will be looking into the cause over the next few days. At this point there is no specific cause for the incident.
