MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) -- Which Detroit Tigers player is the best? It all depends on who you ask.
We stopped in at a Muskegon restaurant, where diners and employees differed on their preferred player.
"I think Verlander, hands down," says Beth Torrey of Spring Lake.
"In this series I think Delmon Young," says Jim Malda of Muskegon. "He has been a shinning star with his clutch hitting."
"Miguel Cabrera," says Josh Dekker of Muskegon. "He is my favorite player for sure. He's the triple crown winner and he is the bomb."
A winning Tigers team is good for the Sports Pro Stop. The shop's owner, Paul Anderson, says anything with the names Verlander or Cabrera on it sells well.
"It is 50-50 between those two guys," Anderson says.
Major League Baseball's list of the top 20 best selling jerseys since the All-Star break has Verlander at number 9, Prince Fielder at 15 and Miguel Cabrera at 19.
When it comes to rookie-year baseball cards, Cabrera's only card is selling for around $60. Verlander has five different rookie cards, each of them selling for around $20. Anderson says there's a good chance the price for both players' cards will increase in the next couple of weeks.
"People who have the Verlanders and Cabreras just are not selling right now," he says. "They are going to sit and see if they win the World Series and then bring them in."
