UPDATE - 12:30PM - Police say a 13-year-old girl staged her own disappearance Tuesday morning, triggering an Amber Alert to be issued.

Kennedy Nolan was supposed to be picked up by her mother at her grandfather's house early this morning, but when mom arrived, the girl was gone and her school supplies were scattered on the ground.  The grandfather told her that a car had pulled up and that Kennedy then disappeared.

About two hours later, Kennedy was found hiding under the bed in the grandfather's house.

Kennedy and the grandfather are being questioned by Muskegon Heights Police.

We'll have more information when it becomes available.

 

UPDATE - MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WZZM) - WZZM 13's Jon Mills reports from the scene that the missing girl from Muskegon Heights has been found.

Kennedy Joy Nolan was reported missing by her mother this morning from her grandfather's home on Overbrook Drive.  Nolan was found hiding in the home.  She is currently at the Muskegon Heights Police Department for questioning.

We will have more information when it becomes available.

 

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WZZM) - An Amber Alert has been issued by the Muskegon Heights Police for a missing girl.

The girl's mother says that she picks up the girl every morning at 673 Overbrook Drive, but when she went this morning, the girl's school folder was on the ground and the girl was missing.  According to an adult in the home, they heard a car pull up and the girl went outside and was not seen again.

Kennedy Joy Nolan is 13 years old, black, and is described at being 5' 8" tall, 135 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair.  She was wearing a silver coat, carrying a red hand bag and a blue backpack.  Police believe she is in extreme danger.

Kennedy is a 7th grader at Reeths-Puffer Middle School.  She has been staying with her grandfather in Muskegon Heights at the Overbrook address.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Muskegon Heights Police Department at 231-733-8900.
