MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich.—Ten students from the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center are in Saginaw this weekend, competing in a state computer aided design competition.
The students earned top awards and honors during the Michigan Industrial and Technology Education Society Regional Competition at Fremont High School last weekend. More than 400 student CAD projects were on display during the competition; MACTC students earned eight first place awards and had 15 projects qualify for the state competition, based on accuracy, craftsmanship and difficulty.
The first place winners from MACTC included Sarah Morse (Montague), Mariah Olsson (Montague), Aaron Rahrig (North Muskegon), Jager Burrous (Fruitport), Garrett Damm (Whitehall) and Giovanni Shull (Ravenna). Shull placed first in three categories. The top four winners included Summer Moore (Montague), Jacob Chvala (Orchard View), Sam Cassidy (Holton), Alena Krispin (Mona Shores), Shull, and Burrous.
