Warm Weather Suspends the on Street Parking Restriction

Due to unseasonably warm weather and to accommodated residents the City Commission has decided to suspend the on-street parking restriction (in place until April 15th) for this winter starting March 17, 2012 thus allowing on-street parking almost a month sooner than in past years.

A right lane closure for storm sewer repair will be in place until 10 p.m. Wednesday, February 29 on westbound M-46 (Apple Avenue) between Dangl and Walker roads.

Muskegon/Fruitport Townships:
Shettler Road is closed over US-31 for the installation of a new guardrail. The closure will be in place for approximately 10 days.

Detour: Traffic on the west side of US-31 should head southeast on Airline Road, east on Hile Road and north on Quarterline Road to Shettler Road. Opposite route for traffic on the east side of US-31.

The work is weather dependent (no rain, cold temps, etc.)

As you approach the team room in the Sailor Center during first lunch you hear laughter from the biggest group of guys I’ve ever seen.

I walked in the room and found a spot in the back to find out what all the laughter was about only then to witness the kid driving on the computer screens crash into a tree.

Replacement of Culverts

West Michigan Shoreline Regional Development Commission, in partnership with the City of Muskegon, is completing a habitat restoration project along Ryerson Creek.

Road closure on Muskegon Avenue between Spring Street and Eastern Avenue is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 26th and be completed by the end of November 2011 for culvert replacement.

Detour signs will provide direction to Shoreline Drive along Terrace Street or Spring Street. Road closure for culvert replacement on Yuba Street will occur in December and will require closure at Ryerson Creek.

US-31 north to westbound Whitehall-Colby St exit (US-31BR). Left on Mears, left on Main, right on Benston, right on Durham, right on Lakewood Rd. Left on Weber, right on Michillinda. Left on Nestrom, right on Duck Lake Rd, then left on Scenic Dr along Lake Michigan to Muskegon State Park. Left on Memorial Dr to Whitehall Rd/US-31BR (Seaway Dr). South to Laketon Ave (becomes Lakeshore Dr after curve) to Pere Marquette Park. Follow shoreline. Right on Beach St, left on Sherman Blvd, right on Lincoln, right on McCracken, left on Seminole.
