Temperatures in July averaged 75.2°F, 5.3°F above average, and 0.2°F warmer than last year (75.0°F), making it the third warmest on record and the warmest since 2010 (75.0°F).  Twenty-nine days were warmer, one was cooler and one was average.  The highest temperature occurred on July 19 with 94°F while the lowest temperature occurred on July 4, 7, and 27 with 58°F.

Temperature records: high of 94°F on July 19 broke the previous record of 90° set in 1955; high 92°F on July 20 tied the record set in 1955; low of 74°F on July 10 broke the previous record high minimum of 73°F set in 1966.

Rainfall records: 1.88” on July 27 broke the record previous record of 1.00” in 1902.

Strong Storms hit Muskegon

Storms hit Muskegon this morning leaving a trail of damage in their wake.

Damaging winds hit from the lakeshore to east Muskegon, taking down trees, limbs, and power lines.

Street lights at many intersections were out and streets were bocked by fallen limbs, some homes and cars were also damaged.

Muskegon (WZZM)- Temperatures in May averaged 59.1°F, 3.0°F above average, but 0.7°F cooler than last year (59.8°F).  Nineteen days were warmer than usual, eleven were cooler, and one was average.  The highest temperature occurred on May 30 with 86°F while the lowest temperature occurred on May 5 with 32°F.  Temperatures for the spring season averaged 46.1°F, 1.0°F above average but 4.3°F cooler than last spring (50.4°F).

Precipitation was below average last month with 2.54”, 0.41” less than usual and 0.48” less than last year (3.02”).  There were sixteen days with measurable precipitation, which is five days more than average (11).  Spring precipitation was well above average with 10.73”, 2.51” more than usual and 4.63” more than last spring (6.10”)
